Our Story
A Richmond baking tradition since 1952
Baking Richmond a better place since 1952.
Since 1952
Where it began
Michael Bierker and his wife Elizabeth opened Westhampton Pastry Shop in Richmond in 1952. For more than two decades they built a neighborhood institution on Patterson Avenue — until they retired and, in 1976, sold the shop to the Rogers family, adding three generations of baking expertise.
Guy “Boots” Rogers took over for his father in 1990, working hard to perfect the recipes and sharing his knowledge with the team to preserve the family's legacy.
Carrying the Tradition Forward
The same recipes, made by hand
In 2016, Westhampton Pastry Shop passed to new owners who proudly continue the same time-tested recipes and methods. The work is still done by hand and every cake gets the same attention to detail — because that's the way it should be.
In 2026, after more than 70 years on Patterson Avenue, the shop moved to a brand-new home at 8903 Three Chopt Road in Henrico. Same recipes, same traditions, a beautiful new space — come visit us and experience this Richmond tradition for yourself.
